"The truth is that our finest moments are most likely to occur when we are feeling deeply uncomfortable, unhappy, or unfulfilled. For it is only in such moments, propelled by our discomfort, that we are likely to step out of our ruts and start searching for different ways or truer answers."
~ M. Scott Peck
This quote resonates deeply with me. It expresses, in part, what I expect to experience in Haiti. As we prepare to purposely move out of the comfortable (though just for 11 days this time) and into the uncomfortable, disturbing, emotionally-upheaving poverty that exists in the two-thirds world, I believe God will bring great change in my heart. I think it will produce a search for "different ways" and "truer answers" even in the mundane upon our return. I pray it will. I believe perspective can be a major catalyst for change of heart, change in attitude, change of mind-set, change of actions. I am praying for a pliable heart. I want to be "propelled" to be different, non-conformed, transformed, even renewed.
May he bring forth fruit in our lives and souls as we go and as we return!
